For gallery: 802 Breakfast Cup, correct 744 large saucer, different Fiesta Gaye backstamp, 4610 vit jumbo saucer

Edits to correct:
The shape number for this big cup is 802 (not 832).

When I bid these on trademe I must have been dreaming as I thought I was getting a 781. Only when I reviewed the listing did I see it was an 802, which is even better.

This is a shape match for the cup identified by Portage as the 802.

My example appears to be slightly bigger than the one at Portage.

for gallery: correct 744 large saucer
We do have a picture in the gallery for 744 but it is wrong and was my mistake as I thought it was the same shape as the earthenware jumbo sauce 4017 (which pairs with the 3016 father's cup 14.7.65 often referred to as the jumbo cup). The shapes are quite different. (There is no three digit equivalent for the 4017 as the saucer was developed for a new cup shape and shares a mould with the vitrified 4610, saucer for the vit jumbo cup 3613, and vit coffee can 3618.)

25 x 155, 22 x 153, 26 x 157.

dimensions for the matching Fiesta Gaye 805 saucer:

dimensions for 4017 Jumbo saucer (not shown):

The ring of the 802 cup actually fits within the well of the 805 but it looks silly!

We do have a Fiesta Gaye backstamp in the gallery but not this one.

I have photographed it with a slight upward slope as this is how it appears on the crown and star backstamp.

Ev, there is still no 4610 saucer in the gallery. You have confirmed it is the correct shape elsewhere. The Reflections is the only one identified on the forum so far.

Here's one:

Breakfast and Father cups: jumbo E/W 3016 and jumbo vit 3613

jumbo E/W 3016 and jumbo vit 3613

Following up information from Janice wrt lightweight hotel cups I think we can now safely identify the E/W jumbo cup as 3016 "Fathers Cup" and the vit jumbo cup (new shape!) as the 3613 "Breakfast Cup". (I will not bother with 3 and 4 digit issues at this stage.)

Tango pattern for THC was produced in the 3613 shape.
https://www.newzealandpottery.net/t5643-found-a-1966-article-on-light-weight-vitrified-ware#22118
I have just realised that my red jumbo is Red Tango and vitrified.
As is usual with vit and E/W in the same shape the vit is smaller.
jumbo - Search Jumbos10
Note height and width differences E/W vs vitrified.
Left: E/W 3016 99mm OD top x 78 H x 55 base
Right vit 3613 95 OD top x 75 H x 53 base
Neither cup is marked.

I may have some corrections to make to my vit c/s guide:

Found a 1966 article on Light Weight Vitrified Ware

I have a red tango duo in Air NZ shape and I think I had pegged the cup as a 783/3612 but it may be the 3619: I will have to check the handle. I'll check the saucer too.

Also have the 773/734 demi.

That leaves the 3613 cup, so the tulip in the pic could be a vitrified jumbo, which I don't think we've seen, or recognised as such. I'll have to play with the pic to work out the scale of the cup.

Thanks Jan.

A bit later ...
I will check back over my vit cup & saucer topic to see what conclusions I reached there.

I've just checked the red tango saucer with the Air NZ type cup and it is a simple coupe, slightly wider and flatter than the 739. As I don't have an AirNZ cup I cannot compare the cup directly with it but comparing with the gallery photo they look the same. I'm wondering about this saucer as 4610 (lightweight!) but cannot remember what I have written elsewhere about 4610.

Some good news. I recently paid 10c at Hospice for what I thought was a jumbo and now see that it is not: it is the red tango colour, smaller than earthenware jumbo and so would appear to be the vit jumbo ("breakfast cup")!
Therefore the "father's cup" 3016 IS the jumbo cup!

At this point I will stop here to photograph and post 3016 and 3613 as jumbo and vit jumbo. Done: https://www.newzealandpottery.net/t5772-jumbo-e-w-3016-and-jumbo-vit-3613-for-gallery#22125

Using the cup/saucer matches above the 4610 is the saucer for the vit jumbo and the 4615 is the saucer for the Tango Air NZ cup lookalike. I will work on that another time.

Combining this new info with the numbers and photo above, the tulip in the picture will not be the 863/739 that I thought it was at first look but instead will be 3613/4610.

And here's the possible 3619 and 4615 combo.
I'm still not sure about this but maybe you have to go with the documentation.

Here is the cup in profile to compare with the Air NZ cup (handle).
jumbo - Search Tango10

Looks pretty much the same as the AirNZ to me so maybe they reverted to the earlier shape. My example is dated 1972, four years after the 3619 release on 9.4.68.

If all this is correct that just leaves the 4610 to identify. It will seat a vit jumbo 3613.

Afterthought.
I had a play with the photo in the article and I can't see the tulip being big enough to be a jumbo, even a vit one (although Jan's notes do say there was one).
At 95 across it should be approaching the size of the soup bowl at 110 OD and it doesn't come anywhere near that so it may be the 739/863 combo I originally thought.
From the picture, to my eye, it still looks closer in shape to the jumbo.

Unusual E/W saucer shapes: jumbo jumbo & 4062

(I have put this topic in cup shapes because I am looking for a cup but I don't know what it could be.)

Hospice had a lot of Crown Lynn white saucers in fill-a-bag this morning.
I was fortunate to get one each in Forma shape, and a wide well saucer for my white cup collection.
jumbo - Search White_10

Everything I took away was unmarked (no backstamp) and in pristine condition, except what I took to be a jumbo saucer, which was crazed but even so a very handy thing to have.

My next stop was Jill's shop to get a teal jumbo saucer for a teal jumbo cup I just got on trademe.

When I got home and unpacked I discovered that what I thought was a white jumbo saucer wasn't. It is bigger in OD than the jumbo, but slightly smaller in well size.
jumbo - Search White_11
In the stack ...
standard tulip saucer: 144mm OD, etc
teal jumbo: 149 OD, 55 well
jumbo jumbo: 156 OD, 52 well

If this clear glazed earthenware saucer, which I take to be 1960s on rather than 1950s, is indeed Crown Lynn, then what number could it be and what cup will it fit?

Need help with this Jumbo sized cup please ....

I haven't come across one like this before.  It is much larger than the lady-like so called tulip cup.  Not much taller, but definitely wider, but a similar shape to the tulip.
Is it a breakfast cup?  Or is there another name for it that I can't think of?
It is the same colour as the Honeystone cups that I have.
Would appreciate some info thanks.
