Morris & James started producing a huge range of domestic and artware at Matakana in 1977.

Opshopping is so much fun, as the unexpected can be found!
Check out this piece that signifies 21 years for Morris & James .... probably a give away piece, but it's excellent!  Made from terracotta and rather thick, it looks like a small cake of soap!

I too found some simalar tiles, at some point, they will be set into a outside brick work and bench BBQ area, thats in the throws of being built Very Happy

Then this week I saw 2 terracotta matching dishes that I really liked. The op shop only takes cash and I only had enough to buy one.. Hoping the other is still there....
When I saw how colourful their other work is, this is rather plain in comparison.

Perhaps this is an early one, with its hand-brushed mark on the base.  12 cm tall.

Interesting the difference in the marks on the base. Makes me convinced this must have been early days. Lovely stuff.

I got this gorgeous wall plaque for my eldest daughter, it has the penny farthing mark stamped into the back, terracotta clay, and  "A.N." brushed on the back with a black oxide
