Great find Mumof1 I see from my comments on page 1 of this thread that the plates with the orange line were for NCO's & enlisted personnel so I presume the ones you have posted with only blue line and gold edge were for the officer's mess.

You could be right there Jonno, I quite liked the one with gold edging, it looked really classy for vitrified ware.

A little more to add to this topic regarding the crown.

The records show that this badge was first used in 1980 and says that the Georgian crown was changed to the Edwardian.

Hopefully the ones interested in this subject will be able to make sense of that info Wink
