Hi, I'm new here and have this darling little jug with the older Crown Lynn crown and Tudor on it. I have done a search and found that Tudor is one of the Crown Lynn names possibly from 1950s?
I thought I would start o collect similar but not very much Tudor, as opposed to Royal Tudor china around. Not knowing the name is also frustrating.
Does anyone know how the Tudor part of Crown Lynn came about or if the design is anywhere.
The jug is 8cm tall with autumn-toned leaves on it. It has gold leaf around the top of the jug and the top of the handle. It is on a little pedastal.

Hi and welcome to the site shanreagh Smile
I feel like I know you already as I often check out your listings on TM ...

Here are the photos that shanreagh sent to the site -

To be honest, I've never come across a Tudor piece yet, but we do have the backstamp which was on a plain mug with a gold rim sent in by mrnarna. I rarely see any listed on TM, but good luck. Yes Val Monk's book says it was made around the 1950's.

Edits to add a link to mrnarna's post ...

The shape of this little jug is the same as Bouquet D628 in the gallery.

Yes, the shape is 775 which you can find in the Crown Lynn Shapes Gallery. This shape was used with many different patterns on it. The shape number is usually stamped on the base, though I don't see it on yours.

Here is an addition to the Tudor collection - a nice little desert bowl. Tudor is not a common backstamp, so well done Shanreagh for finding a piece. Yours and mine both look like 1950s. I was told recently that your little jug was no longer being made by 1963-1964.
