The Maw and Paw coffee mugs, and cups and saucers, were very popular in America in the post war (WWII) years, and like the tiki mugs and the titty mugs were typically made in Japan.
Numerous different transfers depicting the hillbilly couple were used.
Crown Lynn did not produce its own artwork for its Maw and Paw cup and saucer but used one of the existing designs as seen in this eBay auction:
