I adore his kiwiana themed pottery.

I have a fantail and the most beautiful turquoise leaf of Bob's.

Photos to come....

Those are exciting pieces for sure !!
I love the white cup and saucer as well.
I have a stunning hexagonal plate with a mottle navy base glaze and splashes (carefully placed ones) of green, yellow and red..... another piece that is lovely to hold and feel your way around.... (duo design)

I also have an enormous rectangular green leaf platter with 2004 under the backstamp.... a simple moss green glaze that picks up the relief detail of the large leaf that runs across it.... (Steiner piece) Edited to add it is the PUKA platter : )

That looks to me like a sci-fi comic style rocket ship - think flash gordon and the like.

Bob Steiner Empty a memory

Post  Jeremy Ashford Sat 31 Aug - 23:00

Many years ago while plastering a house with my friend Matthew the owner, Bob, came in.
He'd just designed these very strange mugs and they were selling like hotcakes.
"One trick pony" I thought, "he'll never last..."
