I see a pink Studio Ceramics swan on trademe:

The glaze looks a good match for that on my flamingos:

The flamingos are the same modelling as the Aquila ones but half size.
Very light weight, incised "KM" but no date. I assume they are Hobby Ceramics.

The colour of the glaze varies with the lighting. As they sit in front of me right now they look just the same colour as the Studio Ceramics swan.

Are such glazes simply bought off the shelf?

It's the stains that provide the colour and these are very standard. Often they are mixed by the pottery to get varying shades. I got a pink swan for a 21st and it wasn't as garish as those flamingos.

Ev, thanks for the glaze lesson. So much to learn.

The seller refers to "lolly pink" and "melon pink".
How would you describe your swan?

The purplishness in the flamingo photo is caused by the iridescence in the glaze,
but yeah, they are pretty bright!
