This is a reasonably big vase??? It is 170 mm high and 130 mm across the belly. It has a knobbly bottom 2/3's with that decoration coming up the mold lines on each side. (opposite form to the decoration on the mugs ( ) instead of ) (

Mike,
I think it might be a canister. Check out the others in the gallery.

This pattern just doesn't look right without the green knobbly glaze that I like to think of as antigue bronze.

I agree though, it is BIG.

Yes you are correct and I agree it looks no where near as good without that glaze. It was being used as a vase as I had to clean a slimy green film off the  inside. Seems to be a similar shape as your coffee canister in the gallery. Is that the same size?
Mentioning that glaze you call antique bronze where do you think this jug fits in to the Orzel range. At first look it seems to be not knobbly (why I was mentioning it)but the glaze is so thick that I can maybe feel some knobblyness?? under it. There also is a distinct line around the belly where the lower handle strap attaches. The possible knobbles are under this line.
I really do like this!! Is it the Aquila knobbly jug with less green?

Now that I've dragged this one out I can see that it probably is.
