Thank you Janice, all is just fine.
We have the backstamp in the Potters Marks Gallery.
There are some lovely glazes in that lot Val.
I especially like the soft green and blue.

I have wondered for years what this was...thought it may have been from our close neighbours given that that decoration looks a bit like gum nuts. This is the same size but not marked. Has a very attractive lighter blue run of glaze on the rear.

I had one of the "Grecian" vases as well in green. Lopsided tho ... bends badly.
Shape - Putaruru for gallery Img_1430

I've thought these were NZ for a while but hadn't been able to ID them. If the narrower vases that are in the gallery already are Putaruru the wider ones and smaller one probably are as well??

Small vase is 68 mm high and the two larger are 132 mm high and 83 mm wide.

I have that blue and yellow one as well. Here it is next to one of the vases I posted earlier and next to some others one of which has a Made in Taiwan sticker.

I am for sure not an expert on Putaruru - as with all these potteries the 'experts' are printed catalogues and/or the people who made the stuff.  But on Mike's post I recognise the vase second from left, I am not sure about the two larger ones. Mike, do they have any kind of a mark on the base? The Putaruru mark can be buried under thick glaze.  (Woops I don't know how to copy these pics, only the links.)

On Kat's post I recognise the candle holder, and also most likely the little vase next to it.  The others I am not sure, I agree with Mike that they look a bit like the cute little ones that proved to be made in Taiwan.

In this post I made earlier the 2nd from the left is in the TM bulk lot and in the gallery already.
When you examine the other 3 in hand you would think they are from the same source. No marks tho and not showing in that bulk lot. Will have to wait and see if a marked on shows up. Lovely glaze tho. Cheers, Mike

Wondering if Jeremy could say whether the glazes on the two bigger vases in my post look like the colour on Clay Craft ramekins in the gallery.

Mike, I missed your question. If you are referring to the ones in the topic linked below I"d say no.
http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t5056-clay-craft-etc-soup-mugs-bowls-canister-vase#18761

Kat, the cork hole on the salt pig does look like an Orzel top but my observation of this shape on the Putaruru stuff is that there is a slight outward flair towards the top giving a concavity to the whole thing. I noticed this concavity on the rims of their sugar bowls, canisters etc. back when we were trying to work out what the Parker pottery mugs were. It seems pretty consistent in their work.

Thanks Jeremy it was those ramekins I was asking about. Larger photos from that link showed what I needed. I think the larger of the small vases of mine are Putaruru and was just checking that glaze that looked a little similar to the ramekins.

Post  Maryr Wed 18 Jun - 11:02

Sorry all, that was my mistake. When I put my oar in, I referred to Kat's photo as Mike's and vice versa. I agree with Kat as above, and also in this photo of Mikes (link below), I am not sure about the two larger vases on the right, or the small one furthest left. Mike can you give us a yes or a no??

Yes I agree that it is probably best to wait for more definitive proof. Above second from the left is Putaruru (not marked) and the rest in this photo probably are when you see them together.
Below I was trying to say that the three from the left are probably not Putaruru as the far left one is Taiwanese and the next two look like they could be as well.

Thanks Mike, I have removed all of the photos from the gallery except the second from the left in the top photo. There is a lesson to be learnt here, but I'm not sure what it is .... as I'm still confused.
