HI I am collecting the standard Tulip cups and wondered if Crown Lynn ever made any smaller tulip cups?

Hello shellbug.

I have not seen a tulip in demitasse size, although the South Pacific (fatbum) cup does have a demi size.

There is a slightly smaller tulip cup which is a vitrified cup. Look at number 863 in the gallery: "light weight hotel cup".

The matching saucer, the 739, is smaller than the 805 saucer the standard tulip (781) sits on.

Generally the vitrified shapes are slightly smaller than the same shape in earthenware as they are fired at a higher temperature and shrink more.

I have seen some coloured ones, others with monograms.

Hi, there is a bigger 'jumbo' tulip shaped cup, but the smaller cups have rounded bottoms and I will try and find a pic later.

Another size variation to note is what appears to be earliest cups in the shape currently referred to as the "tulip".*
From available information these appear to date from late 1950s and early 1960s.
These are wider, lighter (thinner) and have a slightly different handle from the standard tulip.

Middle tulip with "New Zealand" impressed
Right tulip with raised "Made In New Zealand" mark

More on that here:

I will attempt to photograph the jumbo and different tulip sizes late to show how the earlier tulip shape compares with the others.

*the name "tulip" was earlier used to describe a completely different cup shape. The gallery is not loading for me at the moment but I remember the shape being like the 754 Avon cup.
