Hi
I am in England. I have a Crown Lynn vase purchased in England. There is a similar one to mine in the Te Papa museum. Catalogue No.GH009049. I believe mine to be a Frank Carpay design. I am shortly relisting it on ebay. It can be found on completed listings as I ended sale to have it valued. Any more information would be helpful.

Hi Barbara
It is a nice vase, but likely to have been made by Dan Steenstra and decorated by either him personally or more probably one of a team of in-house Crown Lynn decorators in the early 1960s. The reason we can say without any doubt that it's not by Frank Carpay is that the mark on your vase was not used until 1955 - after Carpay had left the company.

Dan Steenstra is still a very sought-after name here in NZ and his Crown Lynn work is often called "CL Handcrafted." Good luck with your auction:-)

I agree with teaandcoffee as there is no handwerk backstamp.

Here is a link to the Te Papa vase and there is no mention of Carpay.

For some reason I cannot get the backstamp to enlarge on the Te Papa link.
mumof1 says that it reads Handcrafted and this word can be found on many of the Steenstra looking pieces.

I see the Te Papa piece also has the deep footring as described for Steenstra work, and similar to what I've seen in photos thereof.

Barbara's one also appears to have the deep footring.

The Te Papa one also appears to be an inscribed "10" (as well as the museum accession number in black).

I'm having trouble seeing a footring on the ebay listing and the Te Papa base doesn't look deep enough to be Steenstra's style. However the 10 may put it into the Handpotted range

I thought the Te Papa one was pretty deep but maybe not what you are expecting as you will have seen these for real.

The eBay one looks the same on the thumbnail as the Te Papa, albeit a bit blurry, but somehow crops out when the pic is zoomed.
