Te Maori Pottery

Post  sid on Mon 8 Dec - 20:36

Works by this pottery sometimes appear on Trademe as Te Maori Pottery. Does any one know anything about it? The vase that I am posting used to be on the Carters site as Te Maori pottery from the 1980's. Google searches have not found anything else though.

I have seen this piece or similar on TradeMe, but without a makers name. Whoever they are they do a mighty fine rendition of the famous Taniwha cave drawing. Can't help you really, but hopefully someone will come by with some info.

I'm betting it's by the same potter as the vase on this thread

Wow those pieces are fantastic.

Edits that this work was made by Louise Pickford in Opotiki during the 1980's and 1990's. (Thanks to the New Zealand Studio Pottery Facebook page)
