bowl with applied decoration

Post  Flick on Sun 15 Mar - 16:12

Help Please! Found this pottery bowl. 19.5cm diameter. Love the decoration and colour tonings (second photo accurate colour). Decoration applied in overlapping  almost scalloped pattern and sort of scored to give ridged effect-perhaps meant to be flowers (kowhai?) or leaves?? Obviously by an accomplished hand. Have been unable to identify mark on base, or even which way around it is (maybe last photo?).  Any suggestions appreciated thanks.

Yes I think the last photo is the right way up, but what does it show?
Perhaps a B and a g?

This photo shows same mark under magnification-which gives clearer indication of more flowing approach to first part of mark (J?)-the rest just seems jumbled.

Unfamiliar with Jackie Hayward-can't find her mark on this site-more info welcomed if this is a possibility, thanks
