The Bristile range Empty The Bristile range

Post  Ev Fri 11 Apr - 12:23

These were some records that I didn't have before I went back to the Museum this week.  The Bristile range was first made in 1983 and all products are supervitrified.
I have a photo from a Ceramco magazine showing the new range of wares for the Hyatt Hotel Rotorua from 1984 and I believe this to be the Bristile Range.

The teapot alerted me to this thought, as John had sent us a pic of one of those teapots and on the base it says GIBSONS & PATERSON  GIBPAT  SUPERVITRIFIED  CROWN LYNN  NEW ZEALAND  D735.

That pattern number rang a bell with me and I found it in the No Names Gallery on a sugar bowl that I have and sunny has one with a lid which follows with the Bristile 7600 shapes.

So now we are looking for pieces with d735 on them to put into the Bristile Gallery!!

Wondering what the name of this pattern was with it's classy grey band.

Perhaps the Bristile word is used for supervitrified wares?
I have Gibpat Made in Australia, but it's not Crown Lynn and I'm not sure who made it.

Perth pottery Calyx Porcelain Co Ltd. was leased then bought by Hugh Lancelot Brisbane and Wunderlich Ltd. in the early 40s. They started using Bristile backstamps in 1941. In 1978 the company became Bristile Limited and in1993 Australian Fine China.

So would Australian Fine China have made Janice's plate Tony?

Who would have made the vitrified Gibpat Made in Australia wares that are commonly found?
