Elizabeth Lissaman mugs 1985, 1972
Two Lissaman mugs dated 1985.
82 and 84mm H, fully marked, 1985 mark shown
I think it's amazing that Elizabeth Lissaman was still producing work like this in her mid-80s. It would be nice to get some earlier work at some time but at $1 for the pair these will suffice for now.

That's a rather lucky find Jeremy as her work is very collectable.

I guess it's was because they were in NZ and Maori rather than NZ Pottery:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Antiques-collectables/New-Zealand-Maori/auction-875950668.htm
Seller knew what they were.
Obviously 15 years later than the one on the book cover, and noticeably different handle.
I was expecting a last minute rush but it just didn't happen.
$1 auctions worry me. I wish people wouldn't do it.

Your lucky day I guess, as I never look in that category for pottery.

Not completely lucky.
My Papakura Hot Rod Club mug arrived in seven pieces.

an earlier one
Elizabeth Lissaman mug 1972
Having bought the two mugs above so cheaply I ummed about the blue Lissaman mug on trademe and eventually let it go. I think this one is much nicer.
80mm H x 73 OD top
The beautiful glaze on this is like on Marcus' 1966 vase but green rather than blue:

Purchased from the Glen Innes Sallies shop.
