.... at an Antique Fair yesterday for only $15 !!  The fact that it has been handpainted makes it more endearing! This is only the 2nd one that I have come across on my pottery hunting travels, although I see them listed on Trade Me on a regular basis, but they are always too expensive for me to consider getting.

I've pondered this pattern Ev.

Most of it is underglaze transfer, as I've read from one of the articles you posted (on Blue Tango), but the yellow/gold is applied by hand: would that be with something like a sponge on a stick?

The hand-finished Image is streets ahead of the in-glaze transfer of the later cans, which I don't particularly like.
