Is this really Doreen Blumhardt?

Post  hesswip on Sun 26 Jul - 22:07

I have this and on the back is a sticker with her name Dr Doreen Blumhardt CBE, address at Harbour View Road and telephone number in Wellington. I cant see a mark but it could be on the back of the pottery. The eyes that hold the string are rusty. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi hesswip, I would say that the sticker would be correct as these were commonly used by potters. Doreen made earthy work, though I would never have guessed this piece was made by her without the sticker. However it doesn't surprise me that it was and I think you are very lucky to have a piece of her work.

Trade Me has a vast pottery collecting audience hesswip.
The best place to list it is under Other Manufacturers. Good luck.

Thanks for that.Im getting quite interested in pottery as I get older and find it exciting. I met Mirek Smisek in hospital just before he died he was an interesting character for sure and still had a twinkle in his eye. He wore a beautiful silk dressing gown and gave the nurses a hard time and they loved him
