Wow that is a piece of pottery history dollcrown!
Perhaps you could Private Message RFulford to see if he can help with age.
I will add that mark to the Marks Gallery, but would really like to add the stamp too if it is possible to take a close up of it please.

Thanks dollcrown. Even though it is rather faint I have added it to the Gallery, until a clearer one comes by.

I just thought I better mention one thing about this vase before I forget.

There is something else interesting here, other than that it was fired in Fulfords Brick and Pipe works. The 1950s are the unknown decade for New Zealand ceramics and this contemporary looking vase was made by a man who was one of the important, but still completely unknown Modernists who potted in New Zealand in that decade.

His name was Karl-Axel de Flon, and I believe the small 'd', large 'F' mark on the base of this vase is his personal mark, which dates the vase to about 1951-1953.

You can read more about him in this article dating to 1952 (from DESIGN REVIEW: VOLUME 4, ISSUE 5 (OCTOBER-NOVEMBER 1952):

Teaandcoffee, for some reason I could not connect with your links. Do I need to register with that site?

I came across this container with the same marks.
I guess it has the same history?

Hi Horokiwi
With the dF mark it can only be this interesting character Karl-Axel de Flon I think. I believe Douglas Lloyd Jenkins, when he was senior curator of the Hawkes Bay Museum, had an interest in this man. I'm not sure if anything else has been published yet though.

Hi, I am the Grandson of Huelin Fulford. My Uncle " David" also made pottery using this mark.
