Checked pattern is called Gingham !! - Page 2 Empty A 'Tip off'

Post  harry Wed 3 Mar - 19:50

Many thanks. This looks like the modern version. But always appreciative of a 'tip off' though.
Had a great chat to a proprietor of an antique shop who believes my pattern was based on a pattern put out by an English company no longer in existence called ?? Moores??.... late 30's early 40's . She believed that there were not many pieces made and they were for everyday use...nothing special so if they were used as an everyday set then obviously wear and tear, breakages etc would add to their scarcity now.
Thanks once again. Cool

An advert from the Press for Farmers 9th April 1959 showed this pattern to be called Gingham and said it was available in Red and Yellow checks.

At last we have a name for it !!!!!
