As I have taken an interest in demitasses I felt I should also have a small South Pacific duo (which cup shape I'm thinking might be 859). I found one in this delightful pattern, Bunny pat no 778, which happened to be a bit cheaper than what the IGA duos are going for at the moment so with little hesitation I bought it.

I would like some help on a date for the pattern. The one above is shape 25 so clearly mid-60s, and I think the back stamp and everything about my duo look about the same time too.

I think this will be about the same time as "Teddy" (no number) but maybe 5 years or more after "Wee Pets".

I don't the date sorry.. but I have this pattern on a beaker 3020 which has the date 1967, if that helps?

I thought I got off lightly there, after following, and participating a bit in IGA auctions the same week. And it appears to be in really nice condition.

Unlike you I never expected it to be anything but a wee one. Maybe I'm wrong!

After walking away from the Reflections on Teal I need to make a point of bidding earlier to make my intentions known. I guess I was lucky here.

I think the other bidder was banker's Mr. If it had been banker herself I might have had to let one this go too.

My Bunny arrived. I've see a bit more Bunny around since buying this and noticed everything appeared to be full-sized, however ...

... it IS a SMALL South Pacific (fatbum) cup (demitasse) and saucer.


We still haven't decided on a number for this cup. I'm still thinking 859.
Also, the saucer is not the original 774.

I can't recall seeing an earthernware demitasse (773) shape after the 1950s.
With the lateness, read bigness, of the shape number I'm wondering whether this shape replaced the earthenware 773 shape, somewhere either side of 1960, and the 774 saucer was redesigned to match soon after.

This particular combination of cup and saucer was used with Capri and IGA duos.
The only combination with mini-fatbum and 774 saucer I can think of is the duo marked "South Pacific" that I linked to elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me when the colour teal was first used?

Page 81 in Val Monk's Handbook gives the date c.1950's

I just found a lovely cereal bowl in this pattern, the backstamp is so worn off I didn't see it at all until I happened to catch it in the light at the right angle, but I had i picked for CL by shape and feel. I didn't remember the pattern, but as soon as I spied the bunny B on the backstamp, I remembered the backstamp thread, which led me here

Found a Bunny baby bowl. There is no backstamp, but I knew what pattern it was. I don't think this has ever been used ....
