Can anyone provide any info on this miniature spongeware jug.  Appears to be made of porcelain, has a inscription under the glaze reading bought in New Zealand 1876 along with a name.  It measures only 9.5cm tall. Thank you in advance for any information.

Hi RRS2016 and welcome to the site.

The sponge method of decoration was widely used by Timaru Potteries and they did do it in blue.  However the time frame doesn't seem to line up ??  However it may head you in the right direction.
