I have never seen a set like this before. I initially thought them not to be a set, but the pate pot fits the saucer perfectly!

Both items are Mapua Ware, not the RPC.

The saucer is a darker shade than the pot

I can’t remember if the Pat’e pot was produced to go with the saucer or not but I do remember the pot was made for a Pat’e maker in the mid-late 70,s. The glaze is called guinea and ideally it was meant to look like the saucer after firing. The saucer is a good specimen. The brown speckle was produced by an iron oxide that was sprayed on before the item was dipped in the glaze. Waimea Pottery really evolved into Richmond Potteries and Ceramics so sometimes you’ll find a mixture of stamps on product. I worked there from 1976-1984 when they went out of business.
