It was no surprise to see such a lovely piece of Robert Field's work at the Otago Museum, as he was a teacher of art at Dunedin when he first moved there from England in 1925, years before he came to Auckland and taught at Avondale College.  I was very impressed though, but disappointed that the cabinet with his work in it was facing the outside hence the bad reflections.  A lovely Doris Dutch T pot sitting beside his piece which is very appropriate. We have a lot to be thankful to R.N.Field for in the NZ Studio pottery world as so many brilliant NZ potter's were in his classes.
