Sydney to NZ
The running glaze piece to the left and the D A Hillis Mug next to it have bad rim chips
The vase next to the Titoki bottle is Titian impressed "KV.100." - no backstamp or other mark. The Queen's visit urn has a bad obvious hairline.
Most of it is very, very dusty. Sorry about the photos we're all a bit blurry this morning.

Re: Sydney to NZ
The Rowling/Muldoon S&P might be Titian? Plus the maroon 715-05 jug and the whale pattern AirNZ S&P have gone to our kitchen for daily use now.

Re: Sydney to NZ
I started collecting 20 years ago and slowed right down when we moved to Sydney about 15 years ago. Most of it's from op shops. I think I've paid $35 or $45 for a few pieces recently but my range was usually 20c to $12.
Some of the prices paid for Crown Lynn today are surprising. Someone has done a good job of manipulating the market. Although the bubble will, as they all do, burst.

Re: Sydney to NZ
*coughs* ..... before you give it away - we don't have the Decimal Currency pattern Tony.
The number is in the Database and you don't see them very often.
Maybe the Portage Trust would be interested in some of those pieces ......?

Re: Sydney to NZ
Great Ev - the Portage Ceramics Trust were played like an old violin into buying that Shufflebottom piece for ten times its actual value so I could be rich - which is what it's all about now, for some.
What do you want me to do about that decimal currency cup?

Re: Sydney to NZ
How about uploading a pic of the pattern with the backstamp for the gallery. I think thats what Ev is on about.
Re: Sydney to NZ
Doh! Of course she is - I'll do that and maybe the cup and jug shapes too? I"ve noticed quite a few hairline fractures that werren't an issue when I was building a research collection. In fact post-production damage adds to the value as an info source as you can get a better idea of how pieces were made.
I was unpacking the dishwasher the other day and knocked a contemporary terracotta bowl against a turquoise colour glaze dinner plate - one ended up chipped.
Once my sleeping beauties arise I'll break out the Kodal Instamatic.

These are extras from a Te Rona coffee set built up over time. Limited resale value on TM but they fit into NZ's fired clay history on a number of levels:

Re: Sydney to NZ
after the long swim it has finally arrived in Invercargill and we had a mass unvieling at my parents house, it was a very exciting time.
My father was very impressed by numerous pieces.
cant begin to thank you enough for your generosity Tony.
will photograph and catalogue it all and upload pics of any pieces not in galleries.

Re: Sydney to NZ
Excellent - I'm pleased and relieved they've all found a good home. Many of those pieces have been tucked away in boxes for years. Some of them I hadn't look at closely until the packer carted them off.
It'll be good to see them photographed by someone who can do them justice.
