Lidded pot with huge elephant face for lid, "LC" potter's mark (?) (?) (?)
Hi,
I'm in Seattle, Washington and I found this lidded pot at the thrift store, the pot has a huge elephant's face on it, with a lot of detail, and the inside of the pot is a beautiful smooth, ceramic blue. The pot has a mark, "Lc" in a square. I have googled and googled, and I know it's a long shot that it could be Len Castle's work, but I just had to ask. This pot has been seriously haunting me, and I'd really like to find out who created it.
Thanks from Seattle!

Re: Lidded pot with huge elephant face for lid, "LC" potter's mark (?) (?) (?)
Hahaaa that is gorgeous!
Made by a very clever artist and they would have had a great deal of fun making it too
The work and mark don't look like any that I've seen made by Len Castle though.
I would suggest that the surname of the maker starts with L.
Good Luck and Cheers Ev

Thanks so much, Ev!
That gives me a new lead! Up until now I've been looking only for "C" surnames, it hadn't occurred to me that it might be the other way around, but it does make sense that it could be an "L" surname, since the "L" is bigger in the mark.
Thanks so much for your help,
Callie
