A pair of Bookends !!

I went to the antique shop today, because I just couldn't get the idea of going out of my head for some reason, and this is what I found !!

Not sure how to photograph them for the gallery, so have included a couple of shots. Let me know if you want them a particular way, or even separately

This is a left and right PAIR, I'm soooo lucky

They even have the date (1955 and initial A etched in !)

These were very pricey considering having some wee chips, but I have never seen these before, and you don't even have the photo in the gallery, but you can now.
Oh I'm feeling so pleased with myself !!

Bookend with petrol glaze deer

This bookend has a petro glazed lustre deer glued on it. Something about this niggles me, and creates some questions.

I cannot tell if the deer has the same base as the 202, or if it was made by someone else. Was it made and glazed at CL or Titian, as I don't recall anything else made in this glaze?

It does not look (to me anyway) to have been professionally applied, the glue is only in places, is yellow, and the deer does not sit flush on the flat surface of the bookend. I would try to remove it, but do not want to damage either piece. Does anyone have any thoughts on this please?

Re: A pair of Bookends !!
Heather has a petrol glazed standing deer and someone was very excited to see it. If you search petrol you should find it all.
Royal Oak Pottery/Crown Lynn
Crown Lynn blank Book Ends, number 567 decorated in white and red. Sold by Royal Oak Pottery.
Plain, 20 shillings a pair - animals would cost more.

Oh wow, blow me away with a feather duster oakpot
I will add the 567 bookends to the Salisbury/Royal Oak Gallery
mumof1 here is the link to Heather's Petrol Lustre Standing Deer. As a potter I have done a fair bit of Lustre Glazing and I've never come across a Petrol Lustre before.

Thank you so much for the information and the photos oakpot, I see I have a real treasure. Do you know of any other shapes that were petrol glazed?

Re: A pair of Bookends !!
I posted this dolphin somewhere else on the forum.
It has a petrol glaze and is not a Hobby Ceramics piece. I also have the same shape in blue which was sold to me as having been purchased at the Crown Lynn shop.
I know the shape is not in the gallery.
Will post a picture of the dolphin and some time this week add a better picture and a pic of the blue dolphin too.

New pictures of the blue dolphin that is supposed to have been made by Crown Lynn and the petrol glaze one. They are both the same size.
