Found a Titian Kowhai vase at an Antique Fair!
I was looking for Titian woodgrain or stonehenge glazed pieces today and there it was - a Kowhai vase in the stonehenge glaze. Couldn't get my hands on it quick enough to feel if there was any texture and near the top there was, but I still have to work out how this effect was applied.
The glaze pretty much covers the lovely kowhai pattern which is a shame really, as it is hard to make out, but I'm very pleased to have such an unusual piece in my collection.
There was a good selection of Titian pieces at that stand, which was a pleasing sight to see

Showing off my Titian Kowhai vase ;)
I really adore this vase and caress it often trying to get it to tell me it's secrets
It's the glaze that I find so attractive, as it has depth with at least two colours applied in a textural way, over the base glaze ..... so entrancing!!!!
In the right light there is a number on the base - V.115, but this is impossible to photograph. Phone camera isn't the greatest, but it will have to do atm.
Take a look at the close up view..

I'll keep an eye out however you need to be carefull as the quality differs significantly. The examples on the titian blog are top quality and yes you can tell the difference even with a photo. I have a poor quality vase that I'll try to post.
