Re: Crown Lynn / Russell Hobbs coffee perk? & Electric Jugs
Well, when I went back to the shop a week later it was reduced down to $15.

Re: Crown Lynn / Russell Hobbs coffee perk? & Electric Jugs
Thanks haselnuss for raising the possibility that blue Russell Hobbs percs may have been made here.
Something I found at Portage gives me hope that my "Temuka" kettle, seen below may yet be Crown Lynn. They have a collection of shards (from a kettle yet) in what looks to me to be an identical glaze. I have viewed images side by side but of course cannot post a montage using a Portage photo so you will have to view it here:

Here's my kettle again:

I have included the second photo so keen-eyed observers can see that while the glaze may match, the writing on the base is in a different hand. I repeat my earlier comment:
"The incised or impressed mark is by the same hand as the lower illustration in Val's Crown Lynn Collector's Handbook, on page 112."

Re: Crown Lynn / Russell Hobbs coffee perk? & Electric Jugs
Ev, I know you have looked thru all of Portage on line but until today I had only viewed by shape number or a vague search like "mug".
I know I went some pages thru then stopped so now I am working my way forward from the end. I only have 500 pages to go.
Shards can be fun!
The shard collection is definitely this shape of kettle so yes the handle will match.
The striking thing for me was both the colour and the mottling of the blue glaze, which I think is unlike a Temuka glaze.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Same glaze again.

Re: Crown Lynn / Russell Hobbs coffee perk? & Electric Jugs
We already have this shape and number in the Gallery T&C.
Re: Crown Lynn / Russell Hobbs coffee perk? & Electric Jugs
If I could access the data from my old iPad (IF!) I might be able to add numbers for other shapes. My original major source was the Aussie kettle website but that closed down and the fb page that replaced it was nowhere near as good. I am sure some of the others had numbers too.
I did a photo dump to computer couple or few years back so if I can handle a random hunt through 20,000 photos they might turn up.
Nice kettle Melita. Oh to have the set!

This one is a different shape again, I didn't purchase it, but I got photos!
This one is numbered 782, and has the same numbers PS 203 on the base, like the jug that Tarvster sent us http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t3470-crown-lynn-electric-jug#11280 so perhaps we should put these in the gallery also? Â![]()
This electric jug is finally in the 700's Crown Lynn Gallery Anne.
Thank you so much
