A salt glazed jar with no maker's mark that I just had to have!
The salt glaze reminds me of the brickmakers salting as it's very fine and the same colour.

That is a very different and attractive glaze Ev . Am I right in thinking that salt glazing is a rather haphazard technique ie hard to control or predict the exact finish that will result?

Yes Jonno, as there are so many variations like clay colour, oxides, glazes, kiln, fuel, and yes you sort of just take what you get and I love the texture and the earthy natural look about salt glaze. This jar is unusual to me with it's fine salt texture and the brown that reminds me of brick making kilns.
