Thanks to you it's in the Gallery now.
Perhaps one day when I have nothing to do I will make a Gallery for the Commercial Potteries .... as there were so many!

Best left as is.. as there would be alot of 'grey' areas me thinks.
would Barry Ball be 'studio' separate to 1280 pottery?

Another G A Jones - Potbank Temuka mug
I found this today, really wicked running glaze going on with this one. At $12 I didn't buy it, but have permission for the photo.

Moving this topic out of the Temuka Potteries category as I don't think it's from the same pottery. Definitely from the Temuka area though.
This listing made me check this out ...

I agree. Not that I have one yet.
I have checked the ref in the Thomas-Lovatt/Temuka/Te-Rona article now.
But in the meantime Ev has done the same, so over to Ev:

I always enjoy that rootsweb page as it gets updated from time to time.
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nzlscant/Lovatt.htm
It says "G A Jones, who operated an Art Pottery in the area is now retired and lives in Temuka."
How lovely to see a link to our site for Paul Fisher marks there

Re: POTBANK G.A. Jones Temuka N.Z MUG
While at Jim's today we chatted briefly about GA Jones of Timaru.
Jim has a couple of mugs plus this pin dish.
please excuse the blurry
I don't yet own a piece of GAJ's work but am aware of a couple on tm atm.
I showed Jim poodle and cat mugs on line and he noticed that it was the same cat as on a Roydon plate on a nearby display.

The dish looks jiggered and the sheep mug looks like castware but Jim's dog mug (same shape as the cat mug and poodle mug on tm) looks as though it has either been press moulded or made with some very lumpy slip.
