Cups - stamped Made In New Zealand - These must be Clay Craft

Cups - stamped Made In New Zealand - anyone know the potter/ studio/pottery?
I don't know the techincal term; they seem more like pottery that you would use for an ornament, i.e. I reckon they would break really easy...
They are mottled bright shades of lilac, pretty colour ( I got these given to me )

They have a Clay Craft look about them don't they?

With that octagonal thing going on they most certainly do look like clay craft!

I'm with Ev on this.
I have a pair of Clay Craft cups, same size, same handle, brown over blue glaze, 67mm flat to flat across and 70mm high, with matching octagonal saucers. You may have seen them on TM a couple of months ago. I just bought a matching cookie jar once it had dropped down to $10 or so. Clay Craft seems big on the blue too.
Points of difference:
1. the bottom rim is less crisply formed on mine. I do however have a round mug with the same form of base ring so it may be this pair was designed for use without saucers.
2. Mine are marked "Clay Craft" and "New Zealand" curving around the bottom.
Remembering that Clay Craft came into existence because the name "Kiln Craft" was already taken,
maybe these were produced before the new name was adopted???
I have also seen a lidded octagonal container by Clay Craft without the company name,
where it does appear on another identical example.
Some Clay Craft items lose their name in the depth of the glaze. I think there may be some without any words too.

with three items, one marked clearly (the marking on my cups is like that on the pig, slightly less distinct), one softly and one unmarked. Seller told me they just guessed the third was Clay Craft too.
I have a seen an identical container at the local Salvation Army store, also unmarked.
And, Jan, I feel very comfortable using mine. I do like Clay Craft.

wow.. I will need to keep my eyes "peeled" for those shape saucers to match the lilac cups  don't know that I would be that lucky to find them...

The cups and saucers were one tm purchase, the cookie jar another. I also have a taller round mug in the same glaze from Red Cross shop, but didn't buy a gravy boat and saucer in same again from the Hospice shop (gone now).
Yes, I love these colours and would love more cups, more so a set, but for now two will suffice.

Octagonal Corked Cookie Jar (OD flat-flat=165mm H to top of jar=180mm) marked "CLAY CRAFT" "NEW ZEALAND".

See how the writing underneath almost completely disappears in the glaze:


But as it is the saucers that seem to wow you all let me just tell you, the fit is really sloppy, which is maybe an indication that saucers were an afterthought for the cups.
Before the cookie jar arrived and I could see that it was 15mm wider than the saucers I had thought that maybe the came from the same mould, but not so.

JanPots, the cups are a bit short aren't they?

Oh, I just saw that you already have a jug.
Do note that Ev's mug has all the markings "Clay Craft" and "Made in" and "New Zealand".

It stands 100mm high and has an OD in the main body of 72mm, flairing to 79mm at the lip.

I don't particularly like the glaze, and don't have room, but lady said two dollars.
I knocked her up to five and threw in yet another Royal Oak spoon jar. I like spoon jars.

18/12/13 UPDATE
Three different glazes for this shape now.

It looks as though Hospice is stocking its shelves for Christmas, with Jim's amazing stacking mugs appearing yesterday (after my visit), another today (brown flower pattern), and the NZ shelf looking full.

First thing to catch my eye was the octagonal Clay Craft mug (full marking including "made in") to match my teapot and canisters

Next was the "DAD" mug.

Not 100 percent on this as the backstamp is pretty unreadable: only the "New Zealand" is completely clear but the rest of the bumps are located where "Clay Craft" should be. STOP PRESS As I'm writing the sun flashed across the base and "Craft" came up bright; the other blob is more likely "Clay" than "Kiln". The glaze matches a mumof1 cup (which I also have) and a set currently on tm.
UPDATE:
And then I noticed it's exactly the same shape as my blue one above!
(Funny, I thought it was bigger; different measuring device used.)
