Orzel ramekin and mug
I'm contemplating making Orzel a sub-topic of Titian as we are finding so much of it lately.
I've come across lots of this brown and white Orzel ware, but only got this ramekin for the records. It looks very smart dressed in those glazes -
The base -
Alas it wasn't until I was taking photos that I realised how out of round it really is .... skewwhiff ......
I only got a photo of this mug, but I had never seen this shape before and the Orzel sticker looks so much like the Aquila one doesn't it? The base had a foot ring, but there were no markings. It looks like ironsand has been added to a white glaze giving this a pleasant appearance. Another for the records.

Re: Orzel ramekin and mug
Ev,
I have not seen one of these but I have encountered them before, via a google search for Orzel, at "The Rameking" ( http://rameking.blogspot.co.nz ). I think I will contact the blog suggesting they make a search for ramekin at the forum: I noticed it gives a few results. I'm not wowed by ramekins personally. Thanks for stumping up.
At the op shops I regularly see ramekins that look like a cross between this and the Australian "Nefertiti" design by Diana. Unmarked, prices vary from $2-8.
Today, while looking over Jim's goodies I mentioned this to Kat and she in turn suggested that an unmarked mug on one of Jim's shelves, looking remarkably like this one (different pattern) was also Orzel. Great that you found it with a sticker on.
Coincidences, huh!
UPDATE
I tried to leave a message at Rameking but they do not take comments with web addresses. Couldn't find an email address.

Re: Orzel ramekin and mug
This week I picked up an Orzel mug like the one Ev photographed above to bring my personal total of different Orzel mugs to eleven:

It is one of the best made Orzel mugs I have seen. I think I noticed it because Jim recently acquired a large canister in the same design from a garage sale.
I don't think Kat has photographed that yet. (I didn't have a camera on me.)

Bev Brown didn't recognise anything about this mug so I will take it out of the Gallery for now.
