I did consider that, but the NZ looks wrong, and I'm not sure about the significance of the fish?

Could the "fish" be a wing on the kiwi?

I am awaiting the arrival of a face mug with this mark. The kiwi, fish, N, and Z are all slightly moved suggesting multiple stamps.

Hi, the stamp above is not the one that New Zealander Steve Littlejohn used on his pottery when he was making it. His was a simplified kiwi. Proud to say that as his daughter I still have his stamp but unfortunately very few pieces of his pottery.

Thanks for thanks for confirmation of that Kate.
I have a couple of your fathers pots (mugs) and also I think one of the others.

I suspect that the use of kiwi marks was a response to a proudly New Zealand made campaign, and could be useful in dating. Kermiko industries, and probably others, put the stylised kiwi NZ made stickers on their wares.

"New Zealand by Design" by Michael Smythe will probably help out there but a quick perusal of the index has given me nothing. I'll have to dig deeper.

Photos courtesy of the Ferret who thinks that this mark is by Steve Littlejohn.
However I have emailed Steve's daughter for confirmation one way or other.
Edits to add that this is not Steve's work or mark.

Same mug but with face, same mark, as mentioned earlier.
I thought we had established that these are not SL

Hi Jeremy, the Ferret sent these photos to the site as Steve Littlejohn, so I put them in this topic and I'm checking with Kate to make sure that they are not his work. Actually your face mug really seals it for me that it is not his meticulous work, but who would use a mark so similar to Steve's arghhhh

I thought the SL was Steve's mark and the kiwi was just part of the buy NZ thing of the time.
