Eeeeee just found a 1671 Ionic Stewpot
Without a lid and it has a maroon glaze.
How exciting it was to find this even without a lid
First made in April 1970 with 6 as it's second number means that it is vitrified ....
It's a bit dark today, so the light isn't the best. The base shows the dark maroon a bit better.

We'll done Ev! The Ionic set really is rather smart compared to the other Crown Lynn casserole sets.
Fat chance finding a lid but at least you have an idea what it looks like. Actually the lids should be three times as common shouldn't they as the same lid fits three different pots.
The glaze is interesting, and the additional numbers are curious. The photo shows the numbers well but I'd like to see a bit more light on the colour.
Is there any iridescence like on Tricia's one?

I will take another photo in natural light when the weather picks up.
Those numbers on the base remind me of the fraction marks that indicate different glazes used, but I don't see any change in colour, just the solid maroon. There is no iridescence that I noticed. The lid will most likely be similar to the 1673 Large Casserole one. A few places keep the lids from broken casseroles etc now and I always check them out and hopefully one will turn up one day.
