Is this earthenware SPOONS Clay Craft ??? Probably Orzels?
I can't find the post for the Clay Craft Spoons that is in the Gallery and would love to compare it to this one.
This is made from Earthenware Terracotta clay and it has been slip cast.

Ev, Linda told me that in her time there Clay Craft did not make anything in orange clay. The writing does look CC-style:
The shape and glaze, however, look like Orzel: kinda like the mustard pots and my similarly-shaped-but-larger "Coffee" (or "Sugar", can't rembering which). Orzel did make terra cotta ware, but this is a different shape from the Settlers Collection spoons jar.
No it was actually the spoons jar (centre image):
I have no doubt about this one: definitely an Orzel glaze, and with this glaze it's easier to see the cartoon-like script typical of Orzel's labelled wares.
Is this the first terracotta we've seen from Orzel outside the Settlers Collection?

I will agree that it could be Orzel because it's a bit slap happy and rough and the lettering matches the SPOONS in your photo.
Please note the throwing rings on the this slip cast piece .....

... as per the one in my (Orzel) photo!
A very interesting find, Ev.
There may be more Orzel we are missing because the terracotta is unexpected.

The Brown's told us how they discovered a good terracotta rich firing clay where their factory was in Drury and the used it by the metre. The Settlers collection would be from made with clay from the factory site.
