Re: Simon Engelhard
I do like Simon Engelhard's work. This one looks a bit unusual because it is a decorated piece from his later stoneware period. Most of the later pieces I find are a bit more "Anglo-Oriental". This plate harks back to his earlier more European earthenware period.

Re: Simon Engelhard
Thanks I fixed the title, he must have been a prolific potter as I often find smaller pieces of domestic ware with his mark.

Re: Simon Engelhard
You won't regret that splash out Kat.
Now someone told me recently that Simon worked at Crum or Crown Lynn and he knew Daniel Steenstra and extolled his throwing abilities.

Re: Simon Engelhard
Yes it was Marcus and it came to me during the wee night hours
It's a small pottery world isn't it ........
Edits to add that Daniel Steensta's son told me that his Father worked at Crum first before Crown Lynn.
