I am wondering if he is NZ made. Even though the base is coloured in black the panther is not a hobby ceramics piece. It is too heavy and the black glaze has the not completely totally black look like a lot of Aquila pieces have. The black glaze has a slight deep grey tint to it.
He is not as tall as the white standing up Aquila polar bear that is in the gallery.
