Slip decorated face mug with unknown mark
Mug with slip-decoration face.
Or should I call it sgraffito?
Looks like brown body dipped in white slip with details drawn/scratched into.
Reminds me of the "Love is ..." cartoons.

scratched base mark appears to be "BH", maybe BT or BI
I'm wondering if this is a New Zealand piece.

Thanks Kat.
I can see the intention is there but the coarse body on your piece has made it a bit tricky, whereas on mine they have just had to scratch the slip.
