Harwyn Pottery
I have this vase that is similar to Salisbury ware but has the Harwyn Pottery sticker on the base. Can anyone tell me about it? I'm having trouble posting a photo, so have made it my avatar, for now.

Re: Harwyn Pottery
This is interesting. I always thought Harwyn painted flowers on glazed CL vases but it appears from this example that they also decorated unglazed blanks.

Re: Harwyn Pottery
Console, could you please sent a photo of that Harwyn vase to the site on newzealandpottery@gmail.com and I will post it for you, as it is a bit hard to see in the tiny avatar format. Thanks Ev.
Re: Harwyn Pottery
Thank you for sending your photo Console as it is extremely interesting having been painted on top of an Ambrico decorated Shape 3 Vase and has a Harwyn sticker on the base. This will be from the 1940's and I'm pleased that Val picked up on it, as I didn't see your edited post.
This is a very unique piece people ... Photo courtesy of Console.

Re: Harwyn Pottery
As it has a Harwyn sticker, they may have purchased vases from Salisbury initially and given them a floral flourish and sold them as their own. Maybe going onto Crown Lynn/Ambrico later to get a stronger longer lasting vase that was already glazed?
