not the alphabet mug, 1431 for GALLERY
Whenever I see mugs with letters on I think 1177 "alphabet mug". When I picked these up I saw the number wasn't right, but the shape was still unfamiliar.
two mugs marked Titianware 1431 NZ
Thought it might be a castware version of a 3000s (jiggered) mug but couldn't see a match. Handle looks like a 1316: I will have to unpack one to be sure but in photos it looks a match. So, it may still turn out to be a castware version of existing body and handle shapes, with maybe the 3065 (29.3.84) California cup body: a 1984 date works for the 1431.

Re: not the alphabet mug, 1431 for GALLERY
Brilliant thanks Jeremy !!
I can tell that it's bigger than the 1316 and the lip is more pronounced as in the 3065.
It's great to add another shape number to these unknown pieces.
