a curious thing, and another
A curious piece of pottery.
Does anyone have any idea what this is or where it may have been made?

10.5cm H x 9.5 OD at top, no indication of maker
Where I can see the clay body in damaged areas it looks like a dark brick clay with pale inclusions.
Tapping produces a metallic sound rather than a thunk or a ring, a sound such as I would expect from a piece of Britannia metal or lead type.

I guess I should check out tradeaid cos here's another I saw at Hospice today.
Bit smaller.

Re: a curious thing, and another
Agreed. A lot of items like this have been brought in by Trade Aid over the years.
