Can anyone help identify this? I'm stumped.

It's a very distinctive shape, and I'm guessing that 2008 is the pattern number? Maybe?

Japanese...I forget the name of the factory with that device but they made a heap of vases in a similar style. Very nice....

This is the stamp of Yamasan Pottery Japan and they made endless Ikebana vases.
