Royal Oak Mexican plate
Val Monk gave me this plate that Jim from Whangarei found and asked me to post my thoughts.
The Royal Oak sticker and the Mexican transfer date it from between 1946 to 1950. The clay is a yellowish colour, but this could be discolouration.
The plate isn't glazed, so would not be suitable to eat off.
My conclusion is that it was probably made by Crown Lynn, as I don't know of any other pottery making plates at that time.
This has been made using a plate making machine.
I hope that oakpot sees this post and adds his thoughts.
