Hello
Got this piece today and noticed the mark and ended up finding and joining this forum...
Have used the resources on here and I believe this is a James Greig but can't find any pieces of his similar and am wanting confirmation from the experts 😉🤗

The JG is very clear but after finding the name Greig I am convinced that's the heavily glazed writing I couldn't make out other than the "e" but now see the i and g.. apologies for pick quality and sprite can for size reference Is this a James/Jim Greig piece? 20230412

Hi there and welcome to the site Very Happy

This lovely piece was made in a Hobby Ceramics class by someone with the initial JG.

The blanks were supplied and the pupils put on the glaze and the teacher fired them for the class. The pieces were glazed all over with a low temperature glaze and they were fired on stilts.

The shape and the glaze tell me this.

Thank you so much for ur answer and knowledge. Ohhh this makes a lot of sense with such a lovely shape 🥰🥰

When I noticed the initials I was wondering what the story behind the piece is and very grateful to have a sufficient answer now I can put my brain to rest.... or return to the op shops and find more pretty pieces 🤣

Thank you
