Name of potter for this large vessel
Hi there- I'm always looking on this forum to get information on NZ Pottery and was hoping someone could let me know who made this vessel. The stamp is a wheel or flower but is not circular (so have ruled out Barry Brickell) ? and has a raised centre dot. It was purchased in NZ over 40 years ago but that is all the information I have. Mirek Smisek?
Photos attached and any ideas very much appreciated. The whole vessel is around 900 mm tall.
Thank you
Corene

Re: Name of potter for this large vessel
Hi there, this is an amazing piece of pottery and there is something familiar about it.
Could you please put Baking Soda onto the mark and scrape off the excess to show it off clearly please?
Then post a photo for us all to check out.
Many thanks Ev

Ev That has an Ian Firth look about it I wonder if perhaps that is the other mark like a scorpion as shown in the marks book. I'll admit I haven't looked through all the photo marks recorded as yet.

Re: Name of potter for this large vessel
Hi chef, I remember these pots from a long time ago, maybe the 1970's or 1980's. I'm still hoping that I can remember who the potter was, or maybe stumble across the maker. Ian Firth doesn't ring any bells though.
Ali just to let you know that I've been suspended from the FB Studio pottery page and won't be returning.

Hi Ev, I saw your FB post mentioning that, you must have really upset someone. Is it permanent or temporary? be a great loss to the group if you have left.

Re: Name of potter for this large vessel
He must have been having a bad day and suspended me for a month.
I won't be returning as I'm devastated.
