Thanks Truffles and I've popped it into the Richmond Gallery.
It's interesting that there are Mapua and Tasman Ware mugs the same shape, but it makes sense.

Yes, it makes complete sense Ev. Jack Laird's business was very successful and all arms stretching out from Waimea to Temuka thrived. Interestingly the handle resembles some rarer Temuka sheerline handles. Not sure about the Tasman. They were exporting to Australia, a play on words? Just a thought as you don't see that backstamp too often. Below is one of my bowls in use every day. Dishwashered to bits for around 6 years and still a happy chap. Note it's the same design as the Tasman mug but with another different backstamp.

I will have to add that stamp to the Gallery too, as I haven't seen it before.
