Okay, I have found out the hard way that trying to pack up and rehome half a lifetime of collecting NZ pottery is not good for the soul. I think the movers must have thought I was quite dotty! (True Shocked ) I never want to go through that experience again! Now, I have most of my worldly goods in a 40ft container as the move coincided with the earthquake repairs to the house we were moving to, so, still waiting for the movers to unpack our furniture. The collection will be staying in there for a bit longer, a lot longer I guess. How have forum members coped with moving house? I am feeling traumatised! Sad

Well, a fortnight in and all I have around me so far are a few insulators on the windowsill and my good ol" CL Homestyle set in the cupboard. All the broken pottery garden bits are sitting in a corner of the section waiting for a permanent site along with the Benhar toilet bowl with the aquilegia in it. Roll on next Monday when I can get some furniture in the house apart from the camping chairs we have been using. There has been talk of a man shed getting built and I think I need a little shed just for me and my precious bits... but the cat is settled in a folding chair by the fire so it is starting to look like home, slowly. cat

Soon it will be all over and feel like home. A "woman cave" for your collection sounds really good!
We moved about 10 times , including moves around the world, because of my husbands job and know how stressful moving can be. That was without a pottery collection but with three children. We are settled now and fingers crossed will never move again.

We moved 4 years ago now and I can still remember the turmoil and exhaustion!
I don't look forward to downsizing, as my collection is just like Topsy and is growing all of the time! Soon this will just be a bad memory for you Thelma.
I have a task for you that I would like you to help me with and it may help to take your mind off your problems for a little bit.
I need a photo of the Homestyle lunch plate for the gallery sometime when it's possible, as it's one that we don't have and it's a shape 4065 'Classique' 226mm luncheon plate. No worries if you don't have one.
Cheers and many thanks Ev

Will do Ev, I have had so many things to photograph and collate for my own records, hopefully next year will be easier now that we are "semi-retired"
