HW Inscribed Shape 35(edit) Salisbury Vase
This is the second piece of the crinoline style lady and flowers and bird box that I have found. The larger vase is inscribed HW and also has a blue stamped Q like device stamped in the centre. 10.10.2017
Edit:Are these likely to have been decorated by Owen Salisbury himself as they are so similar in style to other work attributed to him? Just noticed that in the "some of Jim's Salisbury" post there is a pot with a 10 printed mark in the same colour and style as the Q on this.
Many thanks if you can help.

HW & MM below were experimental vases and the inscribed marks indicated the clay body used.

The No's 10 & 12 below represent the shape No in the early Crown Lynn gallery.

Thank you for that very helpful info. The vase with the HW looks like a Crown Lynn shape 35. Do you know what the Q signifies if anything. Cheers

Hi, below there is a photo showing No 35 with Q & No 37 with S stamped on the base.
My thoughts are that a distributor stamped each shape, therefore acting as a code before selling the items to shops. This would help with repeat orders.
ie: 4 x shape Q asst.patterns
6 x shape S asst.patterns
