Spartan Shell Wall Vase
Photos courtesy of Phattycar
This shape is in the Salisbury Catalogues from the 1940's.
This is the same as the Crown Lynn 539 Shell Wall Vase, but this one has a flat back, no footring and no number. Crown Lynn made the 539 in the early 1960's.
This is the piece that alerted me to the fact that another pottery had made it, not Crown Lynn!!

Re: Spartan Shell Wall Vase
Thanks to Phattycar for sending photos of the Spartan Wall Vase and the Crown Lynn 539 Wall vase.
Both have been painted by Salisbury/Royal Oak.
Spartan:
Made in the 1940's as it is in the Salisbury Catalogues from c1949.

Crown Lynn Shape 539:
Made in the early 1960's along with many other shapes that had been made by Spartan.

Finally the bases of both with Crown Lynn on the left and Spartan on the right:

I know that there are people who don't understand the differences and hope this post helps
