Mary Hardwick-Smith mug
I adore this stoneware mug as it is so comfortable to hold and pleasing to the eye.
I put it up on the NZ Pottery Identification page on Facebook and it was suggested to be the mark of Mary Hardwick-Smith by acdc71 and all I could see was HP, however hard I looked at it.
Today another person said it was definitely her mark and when I looked again I could finally see three letters joined together!!! MHe
So thrilled as I met her at Lopdell House when we were setting up an exhibition around 20+ years ago.
Will treasure this mug forever and she will be moved into the china cabinet where all of the other fabulous potters live
